For the meat sauce:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the cheese layers:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated parmesan
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (optional but creamy)

1. Cook the pasta

  • Boil rigatoni in salted water until al dente (slightly firm).
  • Drain and set aside.

2. Make the meat sauce

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
  • Add onion and cook until soft.

  • Pour in marinara sauce, add seasoning, salt, and pepper.
