🥐 Sausage Puff Pastry Bites (Mini Sausage Rolls)
📝 Ingredients (Makes ~20–24)
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 lb (450g) ground sausage (or breakfast sausage)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp water
Optional:
- Dijon mustard (spread inside)
- Everything bagel seasoning (for topping)
🔥 Instructions
1. Prep Oven
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
2. Make Filling
- In a bowl, mix:
- Ground sausage
- Cheese
- Garlic powder, onion powder, pepper
3. Roll & Fill
- Roll out puff pastry slightly.
- Cut into rectangles (about 3×4 inches).
- Add a small log of sausage mixture in the center of each piece.
- Roll pastry over filling and seal edges (pinch lightly).
4. Egg Wash
- Beat egg with 1 tbsp water.
- Brush over each roll.
- Sprinkle seasoning if using.
5. Bake
- Place seam-side down on baking sheet.
- Bake 18–22 minutes or until:
- Golden brown
- Fully cooked inside
6. Cool & Serve
- Let cool for 5 minutes.
- Serve warm (great with mustard or dipping sauce).
